Matt is a compassionate and client-focused Psychologist who has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a broad range of psychological presentations and familial dynamics. These include depression, anxiety, trauma, personal vulnerabilities, coping with change, relationship challenges and initial and ongoing support for those suffering from psychosis.
Matt tailors his approach to each client’s needs, drawing on a myriad of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Polyvagal Theory.
Matt works collaboratively with clients and their loved ones when family or relationship dynamics are part of the therapeutic focus. He has extensive experience with couples counselling and parent/child dynamics as well as involving client’s support networks in their path to wellness. Matt has experience supporting workplace matters, including workers' compensation.
He is also experienced in providing affirming care for members of the LGBTIQ+ community, ensuring a safe and supportive space for all clients. Matt takes a strengths-based, client-centred approach, working together to explore their goals, build on their strengths, and support meaningful change. With a warm and down-to-earth style, Matt fosters an environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
